  1. How to Prepare Halušky

    1. Wash, peel, and chop the potatoes into pieces. Chop the bacon into pieces and set them aside.
    2. Grate or blend the fresh potatoes into a puree and transfer them to a mixing bowl.
    3. Add the flour and mix it evenly. Break the egg and mix. Add the salt and mix evenly.
    4. In a hot saucepan, add the bacon and stir until it's brown and oily. Set it aside.
    5. Put a pan of water on high heat. Allow the water to boil. Using a colander, pour in some of the mixture of potatoes so it drops in the hot water like pasta.
    6. Let it cook for 5 minutes, scoop it out of the boiling water, and repeat until all the flour mixture is cooked.
    7. With the cooked potato pasta in a bowl, add the butter and cheese. Mix them gently. 
    8. Serve it on a plate and garnish with the toasted bacon and parsley.
